Our Why
Finding food that is free from chemicals, seed oils, enriched grains, artificial dyes and flavors, and unnecessary plastics is a true challenge. Unfortunately, having access to this kind of food and meeting the demands of modern life isn’t always possible. With that in mind, our hope is to share high-quality, healing food with the community and increase access to a less processed way of eating.
Everything that comes from our bakery is made with organic (whenever possible), unenriched, artificial dye- and flavor-free ingredients and is prepared and packaged with minimal plastic contact (e.g., no plastic wrappings, utensils, or food storage containers). And we’re completely transparent about where our ingredients come from. Colors come from nature—flowers, vegetables, and spices—and the flavor comes from freshly milled flour, locally sourced ingredients, the magic of sourdough, and time tested recipes.
Your choice in buying from us means the world to me and my family. And we hope our bread and pastries become your new favorites!
Our Business Model
Our mission is to bring people together and build community around truly good food. We are inspired by the idea of eliminating barriers to accessing nourishing food and we envision Morning Glory Bread blossoming into a space that families can count on to provide food that tastes delightful and is good to our precious bodies. This is precisely why we are committed to our Pay What You Can model. We encourage folks to pay what they can, and we mean it. As a family, we’ve walked through seasons of life when basic groceries were unaffordable, and we hope this offering will help more people experience the food we all deserve. We’ve found that when we open ourselves to our community in this way, it all averages out and, moreover, we are all taken care of.
About Amanda, Morning Glory’s Owner and Baker
Hi, friends. It’s great to meet you! My name’s Amanda and I’m passionate about feeding my community the food it deserves. A few years ago, my family made a commitment to eating clean food and at the same time I found myself utterly exhausted from the amount of ingredient sourcing and cooking I was doing…on top of a full time job. I quickly realized that having access to simple, wholesome foods was a true challenge and a massive barrier for many families. My goal is to help and empower others who don’t have the time or resources to provide homemade, nourishing bread and pastries to themselves and their families. I firmly believe that those who can bake should. I’ll even share my recipes! And those who can’t do homemade right now can always stop by our front porch to grab a loaf of bread or a naturally sweet weekend breakfast treat.
